ACCOUNT
How do I register for an account?
You need an account before you can bid in our auctions. Account registration is easy and straightforward. You can access the registration page by clicking the Register Button located at the top right hand corner of the webpage or you can simply click here. However, before you do so, please consider the following points:
Choice of username
Spend some time to think of an appropriate username which you will use to participate in the auction. Username once chosen cannot be changed by you anymore. We also reserve our rights to suspend accounts with usernames that are deemed inappropriate to us, such as usernames that are misleading, promotional, offensive or disruptive in nature.
Choice of password
Choose a strong password to lower the risk of a security breach.
Personal Information
As part of the registration process, you will be required to enter your name and date of birth. Please ensure that the information provided is accurate as we may use the data to authenticate your identity especially during delivery of products to you.
Can I register for an account if I do not live in Singapore?
We currently ship to addresses within Singapore only. Non-Singaporean can register for an account but you must have an address in Singapore to receive your products.
How many accounts can I open?
Each member is only allowed to open 1 account. Additional account(s) will be deleted and any auction won with these accounts will be voided and tokens forfeited.
I have registered for an account but why can't I log into my account?
To complete the registration process, a pre-registration email will be send immediately to the email address you entered in the registration page. You are required to activate the account by following the simple instructions in the pre-registration email. Only after you have activated your account then can you log into the account. Please note that the pre-registration email may sometimes be directed to your spam/junk folder. If the email is not found, the email address may have been entered erroneously. Please contact us via the Contact Us Page or simply clicking here so that we can assist you in your registration.
When do I get my free complimentary tokens after account registration and how many free tokens?
Free tokens can be used to bid in auctions just like tokens purchased from bid packages. They are a welcome gift to new Members as a token of appreciation for signing up with us. The free tokens will only be credited into your account after you have activated the account through the pre-registration email (as explained in the previous section). Currently, we are giving 2 free tokens but this number may change after the promotion period. 3 more free tokens will be credited to your account upon your first token package purchase.
Can I change my username after registration?
We do not allow you to change your Username as we need a unique identity in managing your account. Furthermore, we do not encourage Members to manipulate their accounts to alter the bidding history. Presently, we do not restrict you from changing your personal information as we understand that there may be circumstances where you need to change them (such as changing your shipping address when you shift to a new place of residence).
What if I forgot my Password or Username?
This does happen. In the event that you cannot remember your password and/or your username, or you want to change your password, please go to the Login Page and click the "reset your password". You will be instructed to enter your email address and then send it out. Please note that the email address has to be the same one you registered in your account. An email from no-reply@bidzone.sg will then be sent to this email address. Your username and a new password will be provided here. Please log into your account with this new password and proceed to change your password as a security precaution.
What is in store for me when I refer people to join as members of bidzone.sg?
It is easy to refer your friends to bidzone.sg. In your member page (My Page), click on "Invite My Friends". You will be directed to a page where you can enter the email addresses of your friends to be sent. You can also click on "Referrals" in the member page to look at your referral history and status. Presently, as a token of appreciation, your account will be credited with 10 free tokens for each Member you referred who purchases a Bid Package. This is for a limited period during promotion so hurry, refer your friends!
How do I close my account?
We hate to see you go. However, if you do need to close the account, please go to your member page (My Page) and click on "Cancel My Account". You will be instructed to confirm your cancellation. Please note that all tokens associated with the account will be forfeited as they are non-refundable and non-transferable, as stated in our Terms and Conditions. However, we welcome you to open another account with us again anytime!
AUCTION
Do you impose a limit on the number of auctions I can win?
Currently, each Member can win up to 8 auctions of any type in 28 days. When the 8-auction limit is reached, you will be prevented from bidding in any auction. Please also note that the live auctions that you are bidding in also count in the limit computation. For example. If you have 6 won auctions in 28 days, you can only bid in 2 more live auctions. If you try to bid in a 3rd live auction, you will be prevented from doing so. In the same example, if one of the live auctions is won by you, then your number of won auctions would have increased to 7 in 28 days and you can only bid in one more live auction. However, if that live auction is won by another member, then your number of won auctions stay at 6 and you can still bid in 2 more live auctions.
What are the different types of auction?
Regular Auction:
This is the default auction type in bidzone.sg. In a regular or normal auction, a token will be deducted from your account when you place a bid. This will increase the auction price by one bid increment. Presently, the bid increment is set at SGD 0.05 (5 cents). There are two ways to bid in an auction - Manual Bidding and Auto Bidding. For manual bidding, simply click on the BID! button. This corresponds to placing one bid and a token will be deducted from your account. The auction price will be increased by one bid increment. For automatic bidding, you need to activate the Bid Butlers. For details of how to use the Bid Butlers, please refer to the “How to use the Bid Butlers” section in the “How It Works” Page.
Penny Auction
This is similar to regular auction except that the bid increment is set at SGD 0.01 (1 cent).
NailBiter Auction
In NailBiter Auction, you are only allowed to do manual bidding. The Bid Butler will be disabled and no auto-bidding can be performed. To place a bid, simply click the Bid Button.
Beginner Auction
In Beginner Auction, only bidder who has not won any auction before will be allowed to bid. Once you have won at least one auction (this include all auction types), you will not be allowed to place any bid in Beginner Auction.
Free Auction
In a Free Auction, no token will be deducted from your account for every bid placed. You only pay for the price of the auction won.
Hot Auction
A Hot Auction indicates that it is a popular auction item. It works similarly to Regular Auction.
Why was I prevented from placing a bid in a Beginner Auction?
If you have previously won an auction of any type before, you will not be allowed to participate in Beginner Auction anymore.
OTHERS
What are Reward Points and how do I redeem them?
The reward points are given when you purchase token packages or when you submit your winning testimonial to us after you have won an auction. From time to time, we will put up reward items in the Reward Page where members can redeem items. Please note that reward points are different from tokens - they can only be used for reward redemption and not auction bidding.
